The Complete and Ultimate Admission Guide for 2026

Yenepoya Medical College, situated in the bustling educational hub of Mangalore, is a premier institution that has redefined the standards of medical education in South India. Established in 1999 by the Yenepoya Group, the college reached a major milestone in 2008 when Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) was established — the first private university in Dakshina Kannada district.

Today, Yenepoya is recognized as a NAAC A+ institution. Fully recognized by the NMC, it is widely respected for its Muslim Minority status, providing unique opportunities for students from the minority community while remaining open to all merit-based aspirants.

Located in Deralakatte, a medical township on the outskirts of Mangalore, the campus is a sprawling green environment. Its proximity to the Kerala–Karnataka border ensures the institution serves a diverse demographic.

Before you pay anything. Medical college fees change every year and differ by quota. Confirm the current figure against the college's own prospectus or the counselling authority's fee notification. Never pay any amount in cash, and never pay a fee that does not appear on an official receipt. Capitation fees and donations are illegal in India.

Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility

  • At least 17 years old by 31st December of the admission year.
  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • Minimum 50% PCB aggregate (general category).
  • Valid NEET-UG qualifying score for the current year — mandatory for all categories including Minority and NRI quotas.

The Counseling Process

Management, Muslim Minority and NRI seats are allotted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). The college’s government-quota seats are allotted separately, by KEA — see below.

  • Step 1: Register on the MCC website (mcc.nic.in) under the Deemed University category.
  • Step 2: During choice filling, select Yenepoya Medical College, Mangaluru.
  • Step 3: Minority candidates must keep documents ready to claim the Muslim Minority quota.
  • Step 4: Seats allotted based on All India Rank in NEET.
  • Step 5: Report to campus for document verification and final admission.

The Karnataka Government-Quota Route (KEA)

Being a deemed university does not mean every seat here goes through MCC. Yenepoya Medical College also surrenders a government quota to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), filled through Karnataka state counselling at the KEA-notified government fee. The difference in cost runs to tens of lakhs, so it is worth knowing this route exists before you commit to a management seat.

In Round 1 of KEA’s 2025 counselling, 36 government-quota seats were allotted at Yenepoya Medical College. Eligibility for Karnataka state counselling is set by KEA and generally requires Karnataka domicile together with specific schooling conditions — read KEA’s eligibility clauses for the year you apply.

No consultant can obtain one of these seats for you. They are allotted purely on NEET-UG rank through KEA’s published seat matrix. Anyone who offers to arrange one for a fee is describing something that does not exist.
